Text De fide catholica contra Iudaeos (601 - 636) Isidore of Seville
Translation But as the Jews did not recognise him, they gathered to kill him, and universally assented to his death, just as it is read: For this reason the nations, that is, the Romans, have trembled, and peoples thought up vanities, that is, the Jews. The kings of the earth stood by, that is, Herod and Pilate; and the princes came together in one, namely princes of the priests, and elders of the Jews: against the Lord, and against his Christ.
