Text Mysticorum expositiones sacramentorum seu Quaestiones in Vetus Testamentum (624 - 636) Isidore of Seville
Translation This place clearly refers to Judah; for the unbroken succession to the Kingdom of the Jews from his seed continued until Christ was born from the Virgin for the redemption of the world. 22. The histories of the Jews prove this: in them it is shown that the first foreigner to be king over the nation of the Jews was Herod, in whose time Christ was born. But if the Jews think Christ has not come, the Kingdom of the Jews would be from the tribe of Judah up to this day.
