Translation With the city now cut in two, the Greeks built a barricade for their protection between themselves and the Normans. The Saracens from the neighbouring castra, who were about five thousand in number, were overjoyed to hear that the Greeks were fighting with our troops and moved rapidly to help them. Their assistance greatly benefited the Greeks.
