Quotation	Regressus Romam, cum Avaris bellum intulit, plurimae strages uterque facti. Chuni Aetaliam inundantes, Theudericum et Gothis superant, plurimas civitates Aetaliae vastant. Tandem Theudericus, resumptis viris, inruit super A varis, quos vinctus Pannoniam in fugam dirigit. Quos cum sequeretur, finibus in Pannoniae non est ausus ingredi; ibique cum castra sederit, cum quattuor pueris in aequis sedentibus extra castra sibi quintusm agressus est, ut praevederit, ne forte Avaris dinuo adversus ipsum insurgerint.
Translation	After his return to Rome he started a war with the Awars and both had huge losses. The Huns invaded Italy and defeated Theoderic and the Goths and devastated most citiy of Italy. Finally, Theoderic attacked with new forces, defeated them and chased them to Pannonia. But in his pursuit he did not dare to enter Pannonia, when he das fighting he rode as a fifth man with four of his men rom his camp to take measures that the Avars could not attack again. Nach seiner Rückkehr nach Rom begann er mit den Awaren Krieg zu führen, wobei beiden Seiten ungeheure Verluste zugefügt wurden. Die Hunnen brachen in Italien ein, besiegten Theoderich und die Goten und verwüsteten die meisten Städte Italiens. Schließlich griff aber Theoderich mit neuen Kräften die Awaren an, besiegte sie und verjagte sie nach Pannonien. Bei ihrer Verfolgung wagte er aber nicht, pannonisches Gebiet zu betreten; als er dort im Felde lag, ritt er als fünfter Mann mit vier seiner Leute aus dem Lager, um selbst Maßnahmen zu treffen, damit ihn nicht etwa die Awaren von neuem angreifen könnten.
Summary	The gothic king Theodoric fought with the Avars/Huns, who attacked Italy. Theodoric could chase them back to Pannonia but did not dare to enter the region.
