Translation And Wacho fought, and Ildichis the son of Tato fought, and Ildichis fled to the Gippidi where he died. And to avenge his wrong the Gypidis made war with the Langobards. (W.D. Foukes, trans., E. Peters, ed., Origo gentis langobardorum (1974), pp. 317-18)
Summary Here the Origo recounts the fight between the Lombard king Wacho, and Ildlichies, the son of Tato the former Lombard king. After Ildichis was defeated by Wacho, the Origo says he fled to the Gepid people, who then went to war with the Langobards in order to avenge the wrong done to him.
