Translation |
Then the prefect Longinus took the treasure of the Langobards and commanded Albusinda, the daughter of king Albuin, to be put in a ship, and sent her over to Constantinople to the emperor.

Summary |
Here the Origo recounts the aftermath of Rosemunda’s killing of Alboin and Helmechis and her own death: that the prefect Longinus sent Alboin’s daughter, Albsuinda and the treasury of the Lombards by ship to Constantinople (modern day Istanbul). |

It is uncertain how long after Alboin's death in 572 and Rosemunda and Hilmichis subsequent flight to Ravenna that they poisoned each other, nor when Longinus sent the treasury and Albsuinda to Constantinople. The end date of 580, therefore, is somewhat arbitrary. |
