…Autari took as his wife Theudelenda, a daughter of Garipald and of Walderada from Bavaria.
And with Theudelenda came her brother named Gundoald, and king Autari appointed him duke in the city of Asta.

| Summary |
Here the Origo recounts that after the interregnum when the dukes of the Langobards had ruled, Authari was then made king and that he married Theudelenda, daughter of Walderada and Garipald of Bavaria, and when Theudelenda came to the Lombard kingdom she brought her brother, Gundoald, with her, and the king then made him the duke of the city of Asta. |
