Translation In July of the third year of princeps Marcian, Queen Pulcheria died. (150) Under Roman authority Frederic, the brother of King Theoderic, slaughtered the Bacaudae of Tarraconensis. (151) In Gallaecia there was an earthquake and a sign appeared on the sun at dawn so that it seemed as though a second sun was in conflict with it. (152) Summoned alone within the palace on a spurious pretext, Aetius, dux and patricius, was assassinated by the hand of the emperor Valentinian himself. Along with Aetius a number of honorati were admitted one by one and murdered by Valentinian's spatharius. (153) This done, Valentinian sent envoys to the barbarian trbies and the one who came to the Sueves was Justinian.
