Quotation |
At uero Theodosius in summis Alpibus constitutus expers cibi ac somni, sciens quod destitutus suis, nesciens quod clausus alienis, Dominum Christum solus solum, qui posset omnia, corpore humi fusus, mente caelo fixus orabat. |
Translation |
14. But Theodosius, standing on the summit of the Alps, devoid of food
and sleep, knowing that he had been abandoned by his men, though not
knowing that he was surrounded by his enemies, lay with his body on the
ground and, with his mind fixed on heaven, prayed to the Lord Christ: one
man praying to the One God Who can bring about all things. |
