Description Roman troops are dispatched by Julian to Britain, under the command of the magister equitum in Gaul Lupicinus. Together with a second unit of auxiliary skirmishers, the Batavi, and two numeri of Moesiaci, the Herules had the task to repulse the raids of the Scots and Picts.
