In bovis nomine populus ex circumcisione positus sub jugo legis accipitur; in asino autem populus

1. Thou shalt not plow at the same time with an ox and with an ass.
By the name of the ox the people of the circumcision is placed under the yoke of the law which it has accepted; by that of the ass the people of the nations, pertaining to the Gospel: they plow with the ox and the ass at the same time, who receive the Gospel in such a way that they do not leave behind the ceremonies of Jewish superstition, which came before it in image and shadow. |
