Translation The Symbol, the very same that the elect receive, our elders said was instituted for this reason: they hand down in these words that, after the ascension of our Lord and savior to the Father, when through the advent of the Holy Spirit his inflamed disciples were speaking to all the nations in tongues (by which presentiment it follows that no people is seen as foreign to them, no barbarian tongue is inaccessible or without a way), the precept was given to them by the Lord to go out to preach the word of God to each and every nation.
