Text Mysticorum expositiones sacramentorum seu Quaestiones in Vetus Testamentum (624 - 636) Isidore of Seville
Translation But just as Deborah said to Barac, that is, the prophecy to the previous people: the Lord teaches you, and you shall ascend on the mountain of Thabor, and receive ten thousand men, and Barac responded from the role of the chief of the people to the prophetess: I will not ascend, unless you ascend with me. Deborah said to him: I will go with you, but the primacy will not be yours in the way which you proceed along, but in the hand of a woman the Lord will give you over to Sisara, showing clearly, that the primacy of the people is not with him, nor does the palm of victory remain with him, but with the woman Jahel, that is, the Church; for that Jahel is a foreigner, in whose hand victory was made, and she represents the Church that is made up of gentiles.
