61. The Huns tried to invade Gaul; Sigibert went against them with a large army. The Huns who are well versed in magic scared the army of Sigibert through all sorts of spooks; so, they turned to escape. Sigibert was surrounded by the Huns, but gained freedom by promising them gifts, as clever as he was; but this concession did not harm his reputation. He made eternal peace with the Huns and became honoured by the King of the Huns with worthy gifts. |
