| Summary |
Aistulf, No. 12 addresses the emancipation of enslaved people, and malicious actions by the heirs of a lord to re-enslave those who have previously been freed. The law concludes with a statement on the transfer of property to enslaved people, stating that their service itself becomes the launigild [countergift] as they have no other property with which they could use in this way. |
