Translation If a Lombard makes an agreement involving any property whatsoever with a bishop, abbot, or other guardian of a church or with the director of a hospital… If the transfer of property involves casis terris [servile holdings] or familiis [household servants], and representatives of the king or of the priest, or judges or three other such men whose faith is accepted were present… (Emended from K. Summary Aistulf, No. 16 establishes that if a lombard makes an agreement with a bishop or abbot, or the guardian of a church or hospital, then his heirs cannot later break that agreement unless compostion is paid according to the penalty clause set out in the contract.
