Translation |
After the king has ordered the army to march and a day for movement has been set, no one may take pledges from his surety or debtor for any reason within a period of twelve days before that surety or debtor leaves for the army, if the parties arc from the same judicial district…

Summary |
Aistulf, No. 21 establishes compostion equal ot that which would be paid for stealing a pignera [pledge] if a person takes pledges form his surety or debtor within twelve days of the date set by the king for the army to go out, or within twelve days following their return, if the two parties are from the same iudicaria [judicial district]. If the two parties are from different iudicaria, then the period before and after is set at twenty days. |
