Historia persecutionis Africanae provinciae (475 - 489) Victor of Vita |
Quotation |
Translation |
14 Moreover Geiseric was by no means slow to enjoin the vandals to put bishops and noble laity to flight from their churches and residences, completely naked. And if they were slow to leave when given the choice, they were to stay behind as perpetual slaves. This is something which happened to many people, for we know of many bishops and laity, clari and honorati, who are slaves of the Vandals. |
