Translation | Thus, when the venerable man, according to his custom, was on one of his missionary journeys he came to a village (variant: island, or island of the ocean) called Walichrum, where an idol of the ancient superstition remained (some MSS add: 'to which, at the appointed time, the entire people comes together and worships it with the utmost veneration).
