Translation |
For Eutychius had taught that our bodies will be impalpable in the glory of resurrection, and will be more subtle than winds and air; contrary to [what] the Lord [said]:Touch me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones in the way that you see I have. The plundering people of the Lombards, accompanied by famine and plague, seized hold of all Italy, and besieged the city of Rome; at this time King Alboin was pre-eminent. Maurice [ruled for] 21 years. (Trans. Faith, pp. 225-6) |
