De fide catholica contra Iudaeos (601 - 636) Isidore of Seville |
Quotation |
Translation |
But why is it announced that they should go out of Jerusalem, unless it is because the Lord, residing in that same people, said to his disciples: Go, teach all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit? But half of them goes to the eastern see, that is, to the people of the circumcision; and half to the newer sea, that is to the people of the nations, last in the faith, so that to all who thirst shall be given generously, as much as to the Jews as to the gentiles who believe in the Lord. |
