Quotation Iapheth latitudo. Ex eo enim populus gentium nascitur; et quia lata est ex gentibus multitudo credentium, ab eadem latitudine Iapheth dictus est. Canaan filius Cham interpretatur motus eorum.
Translation 18 . Japheth means “width,” for from him were born the pagan nations, and because wide is the multitude of believers from among the gentiles, Japheth was named from that width. 19 .
