Allegoriae quaedam sanctae Scripturae uel De nominibus legis et euangelii (601 - 700) Isidore of Seville |
Quotation |
Adveniente autem Domino, priorem contumaciam sequente emundat obedientia. |
Translation |
The two sons sent to work on the vineyard represent two types of people. The first one sent is the people of nations, who is called to the understanding of nature and the cultivation of divine work, who at first shows himself full of contempt and refuses to go. But when the Lord comes, he rejects his previous contempt and turns to obedience. |
