Quid item de Machabaeis eloquar? de quibus scriptum est: Et nolebant Judaei in die Sabbati
vindicare se de alienigenis.
Postea consilio accepto, pugnaverunt die Sabbati, et triumphaverunt de hostibus. |
| Translation |
What again shall I say about the Maccabees? Of whom it was written: and the Jews did not wish to avenge themselves against the foreigners on the Sabbath day. When this council was received, they fought on the Sabbath day, and triumphed over their enemies. |
