Summary |
Ammianus attests to the career opportunities that a Herul could take advantage of in the Roman hierarchy. A certain Vitalianus, Erulorum e numero miles, who was protector domesticus around 360 is said to have been elevated multo postea (c. 380) to the rank of comes rei militaris and as such he administrated, poorly, the region of the Illyricum. |
