Translation Because of the harshness of the winter, which closed the road to travel to and fro between the parties, the peace agreed between the emperor and Hemming, king of the Danes, had only been sworn on arms. But it was maintained until, with the return of the spring's mildness and the opening of the roads which had been closed by the severity of the cold, twelve primores from each side and each people, Franks and Danes, met on the river Eider at the place called ---- (the name is missing in all manuscripts) and the peace was confirmed by mutual oaths given in accordance with their usage and custom, And the primores of the Franks' side were these: count Wala, son of Bernhard, count Egbert, count Theoteri, count Abo, count Osdag and count Wigman. On the Danes' side, however, there were in the first place Hemming's brothers, Hancwin and Angandeo, and then other men of esteem among them, Osfrid, surnamed Turdimulo, Warstein, Suomi, Urm, another Osfrid, son of Heiligen, Osfrid of Skåne, Hebbi and Aowin.
