Quotation |
Translation |
67a, p. 149: Next, the Scythian races {are} completely crammed with fortifications from mountains as well as forests. The fields are very rich in grain, and extend as far as the Asiatic Ocean and the Caspian Sea, where it faces West, {and} from there southwards to bituminous Lake Humar, and spreading to the North in a great circle of about one-hundred stades to the base of the Humar Mountains, which are as hot as a glowing furnace. |
