The extent of the Danish kingdom in the time of Godfred and immediately after is hinted at by two details in the Frankish Royal Annals: the presence of an Osfrid 'from Skåne' as one of the Danish nobles who witnessed a treaty in 811, and by the statement concerning the rebellion of the people of 'Westarfolda', probably Westfold in Norway, in 813. It thus may have, at its peak in this period, have stretched from Skåne in the southeast to the mouth of the Eider in the southwest to the Oslofjord region in Norway.
