In qua Scythia prima ab occidente gens residet Gepidarum, que magnis opinatisque ambitur fluminibus. Nam Tisia per aquilonem eius chorumque discurrit; ab africo vero magnus ipse Danubius, ab eoo Flutausis secat, qui rapidus ac verticosus in Istri fluenta furens divolvitur. |
Translation |
In this Scythia as first gens in the west live the Gepids, surrounded by big and mighty rivers. The Tisza runs along its northern side, but from the south the great Danube cuts off the Flutausis, that runs swiftly and vertigiously into the floods of the Ister. |
