Vita sancti Elphegi (1080 - 1080) Osbern of Canterbury |
Quotation |
Translation |
The princes of the Danes, desiring to conceal both their crime and the glory of Alfheah, decided to throw his body in the water, thinking they could cover up the enormity of their wickedness the more easily if his memory was removed from men. But what the Danes did in contempt, Christ turned to the glory of Alfheah. (Trans. Laura Gazzoli) |
