A partly literall summary of the interchanges between Odoacar and the Saint Severin. as well as his war against the Rugians as described by Euippius, Vita Severini chapter 7 and 32:
Odoacar becomes king in Italy after deposing Augustulus. This future was once predicted by the Saint Severin who saw im as a young man, still clad in fur. When he was king, the Saint wrote letter to him asking to free a certain Ambrosius from exile, which the king gladly did. After a while, the saint was asked, how long Odoacar will wule, and he predicted this time correctly. |
