Translation |
Nepotianus departed from his body. Upon the death of frumarius, Remismund, by his right as king, brought all the Sueves back under his sovereignty and restored the peace that had lapsed. (220) Envoys of the above-mentioned Aegidius crossed to the Vandals via Ocean in May, returning home by the same route in September. (221) On Monday, 20 July, from the third hour to the sixth, the sun was perceived to be diminished in its light to the appearance of the moon on the fifth day. (221) Remismund sent envoys to Theoderic, who likewise sent his own in return to Remismund and included [with his delegation] not only weapons and gifts, but also Remismund's wife, whom he had been keeping. Marcellinus slaughtered the Vandals in Sicily and put them to flight from the island. |
