Quotation Si quis cum ancilla gentile [native] fornicatus fuerit, conponat domino eius solidos viginti; si cum romana ancilla, conponat solidi duodecim.
Translation If anyone has intercourse with a native woman slave, he shall pay twenty solidi as composition to her lord. If he fornicates with a Roman woman slave, he shall pay twelve solidi as composition. (Emended from K. Fischer-Drew, trans., The Lombard Laws (1973), p. 89)
