| Summary |
The prologue to Liutprand’s laws from the twenty-third year of his reign (735 CE) begin by naming Liutprand as the law-giver, and referencing the involvement of judges and Lombard fedeles [faithful followers] in preparing the laws. The prologue then gives the date the laws were issued, and concludes by outlining the motivations of removing doubt from judges’ minds when making decisions. |
