Quotation Si quis iudex aut quiscumque homo missum suum diregere presumpserit Roma, Ravenna, Spoleti, Benevento, Francia, Baioaria, Alamania, Ritias aut in Avaria sine iussione regis animae suae incurrat periculum et res eius infiscentur.
Translation If a judge or any other man, without permission, presumes to send his representative to Rome, Ravenna, Spoleto, Benevento, France, Bavaria, Alamannia, Raetia, or to the land of the Avars. he shall lose his life and his property shall be confiscated. Summary Ratchis, No. 9 establishes a non-emendable death penalty and confiscation of all property from the judge or other person who sends an envoy into neighbouring cities (Rome and Ravenna) or regions - including to the southern Lombard Duchies of Spoleto and Benevento – without (royal) permission.
