Translation Eraclius was crowned emperor. He had rebelled against Foca out of Africa on account of the [love] for the very noble virgin Flavia. She had been betrothed to him in Africa and deported by order of the princeps Foca from the borders of Libya to Constantinople. (Al-Tamimi, trans., “Byzantine-Arabic Chronicle”, 2019)
