Quotation Si servus in eadem civitatem, in qua rex tunc invenitur esse, scandalum incitaverit, sit culpabiles in palatio regis solidos sex. Et si percusserit, sit culpabilis in palatium solidos duodicem, excepto feritas aut conpositiones plagarum, sicut in hoc edictum legitur.
Translation The slave who creates a disturbance in a district where the king is present, shall pay six solidi to the royal fisc. And if he also strikes a blow, then he shall pay twelve solidi to the fisc in addition to paying composition for the wounds or injuries as provided in this code. (K. Summary Rothari, No. 38 establishes a six solidi composition payable to the royal palace (i.e. royal fisc) for any enslaved man who causes a disturbance in a city/district [civitatas] where the king is present, but where they do not strike a blow, and a composition of twelve solidi if they do strike a blow. In addition, they must also pay composition for any wounds inflicted.
